Morgaine
Lady of the Lake

My dad tells me that since he was in high school, he wanted to build a boat. He tells a story about how my grandpa built a dory in the attic of the 3 story house he was born in, and how grandpa had to lower it out of the window because it wouldn't fit down the stairs. When I started building Morgaine, he would come over everday to see the project. Even in the year or so that I didn't work on the boat, he would drop by and ask, "when are you going to finish the boat?" I've wanted to take him sailing for a long time but during the winter and spring the water was too cold for him. He turned 80 this June. He is the youngest of nine and I am his youngest...I suppose that helps explain the 40+ years between us.

Thunderstorms - in the Morning

The weather started out bad, but by afternoon it was clear and breezy. We were off the lake and on our way out of the area when another group of thunderstorms worked their way onto Echo Bay.

Me and my Pa: wearing the same shorts
